Description
The union takes a firm position on loose connections.
The Fertile Pipe Layers Union formed after three neighbors volunteered to fix a drainage problem and discovered they had enough opinions to require collective bargaining. The first meeting lasted four hours. They agreed on lunch, ordered jackets, and postponed the trench.
Today the crew brings proper equipment, impressive confidence, and a foreman who says “little deeper” as though nobody has heard that one before. Every bend gets careful attention. Every connection gets checked twice. The apprentice is still learning which comments belong on the invoice.
Their proudest achievement is a perfectly straight installation nobody can see because it is underground. The annual banquet includes a slide presentation anyway. Wear your union colors. You have already completed the most demanding qualification: appreciating the workmanship.
