Faulkton Motel opened with a vacancy sign and a desk bell that immediately gave the owner too much power. The rooms were clean. The name sounded different every time a guest said it.
The motel offers quiet evenings and a continental breakfast the owner describes more generously than a cartographer would. The ice machine is the most social feature.
Repeat guests ask for the same room and insist they remember where the switch is. They do not. Wear the tee for a motel where checking in is easy and explaining where you stayed may require slowing down.
