The Spread Eagle Prospectors Guild began when a retiree found something shiny in a creek and announced he was retiring again. It was a bottle cap. By the time anybody identified it, twelve people had bought pans.
The guild now explores promising bends, compares equipment, and speaks confidently about deposits nobody has actually located. Meetings feature maps, thermoses, and a member who insists the next spot is the good one. He has been correct about the parking.
Their annual discovery dinner celebrates whatever turned up that year, usually a spoon, two fishing lures, and renewed optimism. Wear the tee for an organization that knows real treasure takes patience, persistence, and somebody willing to carry the buckets. No mineral rights included.
